Holding the World Record for...

Getting stuck with no petrol in the car! Oh but the Honor is all my husband's! If you want to know the figures for accomplishing such a feat; here they are...
At least ONCE:
  • A Lifetime
  • A Decade
  • A Year
  • A Month
  • A Week
Yes you guessed it....You have to get stuck at least once a WEEK, or more....and who does it better than MY HUSBAND!?  For the last couple of years he is aiming at breaking his own record...and he surely does! That's the ONE goal he does reach. Enough said.

I silently wonder if this is what he does when he tells me he did put petrol in the tank...

I have learnt to cope with the "attention" that comes with such accomplishments.... Here are my quick tips for coping with the "Embarrassment":
  • Take deep breath
  • Do not blush
  • Eyes down
  • Frown
  • Busy yourself with your cellphone
  • Search frantically for something in your handbag
  • Speak on the phone with 'overseas' family member
  • Pretend you are unaware of the current situation
  • Pretend you are waiting for the bus/lift and are not associated with car/person
  • Walk away...walk to work
If these are impossible to master due to circumstances.....
Just sit there and feel sorry for yourself and your life sucks.  Do not blame the husband. (Again!)

Today on our way to work we STUCK again, and this time ( one of the very few times) a good Samaritan comes to our Rescue???!!
Just happens to be one of our daughter's classmates father.
He is so over zealous to help (bless his good soul) he takes hubby to the garage to get petrol in the 'eveready can' brings him back and yet does not leave, no he stands around as hubby takes out the 'eveready' X-ray he folds and uses as a funnel, he even pours the petrol in via the X-ray funnel while hubby holds it in place. He still does not leave as hubby tries to get the car to start, to no avail. Hubby then proceeds to open the petrol filter and suck on the little pipe...spits petrol...suck again, puts it back and then tries again to start the car. After many attempts the car finally takes....and our Samaritan finally goes to his own car. Thanks so much friend.

Sometimes it leaves me... stark raving mad silent.  Stripped to the core.  Humbled beyond being a humbled person already.  Ashamed.  But then I realise, I should be used to this. This is my life. Shit happens. All the time.

Another day in my paradise.
